Laurels & Bells is a literary and arts journal created by student and poet Ellie Lamothe as a project of the Mount Saint Vincent University Feminist Collective in 2018. We are based out of K’jipuktuk (Halifax, NS).
The purpose of this journal is to amplify the voices and experiences of underrepresented and marginalized communities, promote radical ideas through creative expression, and inspire collective healing.
We believe in the transformative power of collective vulnerability, in art as a means of resisting violence and oppression, in redefining ourselves outside of dominant paradigms, and building community through intentional connection and care for one another.

We're looking primarily for submissions of poetry, prose, and essays, as well as photography and visual art that fit the broad theme of the current issue.
