You’re stuck in place until you’re not.
You’re smiling until you’re not.
You’re miserable until you’re not.
Get up and go for a walk.
Jacquelyn LeVan is a self taught artist with a background in environmental science. Throughout her experience in school, she always knew that she wanted to pursue art but lacked the confidence to go for it. As a result, Jacquelyn does her best to create highly personal and empowering work that incorporates her education.
After completing a degree in Environmental Science at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Jacquelyn immediately moved to New Orleans, LA to explore the local art scene. The city has been a massive inspiration every day whether it's the musicians busking on the street or huge handmade costumes for Mardi Gras. New Orleans is a city that will dramatically be affected by climate change and knows its impermanence more than most. There is an incredible beauty in understanding that and finding a way to celebrate through it all.
Jacquelyn has been selling her work in person at the Palace Market on Frenchmen St for the past three years.
